The home grown tour was a tournament series established in the year 1999 by a small group of private course owners. As the tour was refined over the years it also became a way for the course to generate some income to help offset the expense of maintaining a course. With $4 of every player’s entry (including pro’s) going toward the course, each player is in a sense helping contribute to maintain the course.
Now the home grown tour is bringing groups in excess of 100 disc golfers from several states to participate in two rounds of competitive golf in an “old school” atmosphere. While you have a large field of competitors, CTP’s running amuck and great payout, it is the camaraderie that makes this tournament series the most enjoyable around.
